It's quite bad form to be knitting a person's gift right in front of them, but that I was what I was doing when I went to visit Kathleen. Anyway, I figured if she didn't know it was for her, it would still be a nice surprise!
I finished it not long after getting back from Brisbane, then blocked it on the following Wednesday. Being wider than previous incarnations, it took up more floorspace which meant I had less wiggle room for my chair. And I gave up on the spray bottle and instead wet the entire thing and pressed out the water with a towel. Amazingly it dried within the day—probably because the weather was warm:
I think I do like it wider.
It was mailed off to Kathleen the following day and it reached her by the weekend. Needless to say, she liked it!

It’s so lovely, like something made out of spiderweb! My “string” illustration was based on a sketch I made of you knitting it (although I didn’t know it at the time).
