There is never enough time!
Saturday evening at my mother's we had a yummy dinner that Peter made. My cousin and his family were there, along with my aunt (the one who always comments that I'm putting on weight every time she sees me. She must have a mental picture of me as a skinny 13-year-old because I don't know how else she makes the comparison), my brother and the daughter of my old babysitter who is living in Sydney for a while. I got given lots of nice birthday presents—including a Pandora bracelet, a Hello Kitty towel and tickets to see Miss Saigon in September (last time I saw that show was in 1994 or 1995 with my friend Carolyn. There was a major cancellation because one of the cruise ships didn't dock on time so we got moved to better seats!)
Slept for 12 hours yesterday, then got up to cook (absent-mindedly forgot to put the mango in the mango chicken), do laundry and various computer-y things which I never finished because I got distracted (it was going to include some scintillating blog posts for you to read while I'm away). Band was at 5 but I was late and Ben hadn't finished his sermon so he didn't come to practice. Cameron had the key but he wasn't going to be there until 5:30 so all of us stood out in the cold stamping our feet and being silly. Band practice was a rush because I was stressed. Ben turned up just as church was beginning and managed to slot himself in with the drumming (sooooo much better having a drummer when you're playing “My Hope is Built”). He preached very well on Doubt but he didn't think so. We left early and tried to pack but failed and ended up watching TV.
Good thing our leaving time is flexible—still have to finish the packing and make the house somewhat respectable for our housesitter! See you in a week ...
