Ben goes to counselling

Monday, 16 June, 2003

Ben had his first counselling session on Friday and it went well. Because his depression isn't a constant thing, but comes and goes, the counsellor said that he doesn't need to be on medication. This is a great relief to him. He is going to go back for fortnightly visits from now on. Thanks so much for your prayers and support!

Hi guys,
So glad to hear that Ben is seeing a counsellor.  Counsellors can help a lot - even just working at how you view the world.
Of course, I believe in counselling!  I work in a Counselling Service!!

Love to you both,
George

PS No shame in going on medication either.  I was on meds for 5 years and it helped my brain to re-align a bit.  The research indicates that for moderate to severe depression, a combo of meds and counselling is best.
Love George
