Long weekend in brief: was going to have a writing group writing retreat but no one wanted to come. That's a bit of an over-simplification; I'm sure there were people who wanted to come but other stuff (like life) just got in the way. In the end, it was for the best; I wasn't up to organising logistics with food and managing differing personalities anyway. So Ben and I went down to Congo by ourselves (stopping at the Very Bonut Dan on the way there and on the way back) and he meant to work on his essay (miracles in John) and he did a little on my laptop which still takes a very long time to load up, and I meant to do some writing but instead spent most of the weekend on the couch watching The West Wing Season 4 and Firefly and knitting a wrap jacket for my other sister-in-law for her birthday which is just a little over a month away (I finished the back today so hopefully the rest won't take that long) and trying somewhat unsuccessfully to keep the fire burning in the lounge room hearth. Oh, and we slept a lot.
Given all of that, it's kind of sad that I've returned back home still feeling like I've been run over by a truck and I've found today I just can't get into the swing of things. I have lots of things I'd like to blog about and stacks of stuff to do—email that needs to be answered, website stuff that needs to be done—but I have no energy or motivation to do any of it. I still feel so tired. But perhaps that is fitting. As Guan pointed out today, I have been quite busy and probably need time to recuperate.

What are the details of this writing group of which you speak? It angers me
I hope you’ve seen enough of Futurama to understand that…but really, what ARE the details of the writing group? I wouldn’t mind joining when I get back to Aus.
Details here. We’d love to have you come along. Where are you, Jane? What are you doing overseas?
I wanted to come and I was ready to come! So don’t think that nobody was interested. I was
PS Regarding exhaustion, it sounds worthwhile just getting your iron levels checked. I got shockingly horribly exhausted in Jan/Feb and surprise, surprise, it was my iron levels wayyyy down.
I’d agree with Guan. I feel the same way you do but haven’t been even half as busy as you have, so I don’t know what my diagnosis is. But yeah, don’t push yourself too hard, give yourself space to get back into the pace of things after your weekend away.
hey, just in case you missed it ... I was joking about guilt and preachers… really…. I feel so bad now… oh…
Good to know
