Drumming up hum

Thursday, 30 November, 2006

I've finished posting my depression talk. I should point out that if you want to read the lot but you don't have time to comb through all the previous posts for October/November, you can find them all in the category archive (listed in reverse order though).

I still haven't fixed the email comments problem—apparently our version of Movable Type has Perl errors in it. I'm just happy that the blog is still online. So for the time being, I've turned off the function that emails comments to me. Our web administrator suggested upgrading to a more recent version of MT but Ben and I were having vague thoughts about moving over to WordPress anyway. My only qualm is that it seems that if you want to run multiple blogs on the one site, you have to install WordPress multiple times. Ben said he saw some sort of multiblog extension somewhere so perhaps it is possible ... hmm, will have to do more thinking about it.

Ben is away on holidays this week with friends down in Mollymook and I am at home by myself. When you've been together for so long, it feels very strange when one of you is away for an extended period of time. I keep thinking he's just in the next room and if I peek inside, he'll be there. But of course he isn't.

The temptation when you're living alone is to become a slob—to not clean up after yourself and live off 2-minute noodles and cream of chicken soup. Thankfully I've resisted that temptation more or less so far. I have been watching a lot of television, though, and going to bed far too late (though one night I just couldn't sleep). It's weird not having him there beside me. I'm glad he's coming home in a couple of days.

Funny, I’ve lived alone for eleven months and have not once been tempted to become a slob. And I’d rather eat my own toenails than two-minute noodles.

Someone’s a bit touchy today. Maybe it comes from living alone for too long ;P
