For those out there in RSS-land

Question: How many of you prefer a full-text feed and how many of you like excerpts with the option of clicking on a link to the entire post to read further?

Update: How many of you would give the same answer for both blogs and zines?

i’d vote for full-text: if I want to read comments, I’ll click through to the site.

For blogs, I’m with Dave but for Zines I like to get a summary of the text and to click through for the full story.

Click-through for blogs (well, by that I mean your blog. I’m not sure this would apply to blogs generally) and zines.

I am much happier now that your blog is the full text on rss. smile

As for zines, I’ve never tried to read a zine on my friends page before… I think I would want that under links…

Full feed for both

I like full text for blog entries, but only a summary for zine articles

I would prefer full text for blog entries, and I like links for zines.
But Karen, I like your blog, so I would read it either way! :o)

Thank you, Loz!

I asked the question, not because I want to change the RSS feed for my blog but because I was contemplating changing the RSS feed for Hippocampus Extensions (the front page). But it seems that most people prefer links for zines so it will stay that way.

Hi Karen,

Enjoy reading your site. I’ve noticed that when you add a new entry to your RSS feed, all of them take that new timestamp. Therefore, in my RSS reader I get a billion of your feeds, not just the latest one. Hope there’s an easy fix.
