I've got to say that Issue 07 is probably the hardest issue I've ever had to write for. There's heaps I could possibly say about God. I've only chosen one or two aspects of his nature to write about but they are so complex. I found, from reading D.A. Carson, you can't talk about God's love without talking about his sovereignty. You can't talk about God's holiness without talking about his wrath because his wrath is derived from his holiness. Though my subject matter is incredibly interesting, it is also incredibly hard to write about. I keep stumbling across areas I've never thought about in great depth. This is a problem because I can't write about what I don't know. So I end up going away and thinking for hours and hours about questions like, “Does God create evil?” or “Why did God create the world?” and, even though the result of these ponderings may be only a paragraph or two, it's important that I get those paragraphs right.
I think I am starting to have great thoughts of God.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

I just picked up DA Carson’s book yesterday. It wasn’t till I was reading through it later that the thought struck me: “Wait a minute, isn’t this the book that Karen has been talking about?!” It’s rather hard to wade through but worth it, I think.
Happy Easter
Yes, Carson is never easy but always worth it!
Happy Easter to everyone too!
