New brain for Shamgar

Monday, 07 April, 2003

Shamgar is having a new engine put in. We bought a secondhand one from a place in Sydney. I've never seen an engine outside of a car before; it really does look like a mechanical brain. We've taken Shamgar to a guy named Vlad who is a mechanic who operates out of his own garage. Everyone finds it quite amusing that his name is Vlad. Ben even went so far to look up all the “Vlad's” on the Internet (“Did you know that Dracula is based on Vlad the Impaler?” “Of course. Didn't you?” Sometimes he forgets he's married to someone who has a BA in English literature). We're getting Shamgar back on Wednesday. I hope everything goes well and that we will have less car trouble now ...
